JPDE2 - The Fang Rises, the Demo Walks
Hello thar, Meinos Kaen here... With some updates for JPDE2.
First of all, please do feast your eyes on the preview for the sprites for Adam Taurus and Sienna Khan! Pretty snazzy, huh? The sprites are the work of chocojax, while the concept art was designed by Amaco.
Sienna only got some slight adjustments but with Adam we went for an almost complete overhaul. The important elements of his original design are still there but we decided that, considering the updated role of the Fang and most importantly Sienna in the story of AoD... The change was necessary to reflect certain themes.
Second of all, this is also to let you know that due to unforeseen circumstances, the full 3D road proved itself to be not feasible and as such, we're going to see sprites again in JPDE2... But that doesn't mean that Adagio of Darkness will be the same game as Sonata of Fire.
There are going to be very big differences in gameplay, both when it comes to exploration, character growth and fighting. We moved to Unity for this sequel, after all, and we're going to use the engine for all it's worth. A first proof of concept Demo should be ready for the month of April. Just as for JPDE, it will come for 25$+ Patrons first, then for the others Patrons a week later but...! It won't be available for the public to download.
That's because, again, this is going to be a proof of concept Demo and as such, its main aim is to gather feedback on the new gameplay and mechanics, to polish it and modify it until it becomes the foundation upon which to build everything else.
Not to say that it won't contain anything interesting story or lore wise. ;3 I can't wait to show you what we've been working on so stay tuned...!
